Who we are
We are a non-profit civil association that seeks to contribute to the ecological restoration of the biodiversity of the Amazon rainforest of Cusco-Peru, through the development of educational projects focused on environmental awareness, the promotion of scientific research, the promotion of sustainable productive initiatives, the promotion of respect for the culture and traditions of indigenous peoples and the empowerment of women.
Our Vision
In 10 years, we see ourselves as a self-sustainable organization maintaining our deep respect for the Amazon forest, forming productive initiatives, cooperatives, social enterprises or productive associations that promote the return of sustainable and native alternative crops and with agro-export projection, based on innovation and sustainable development. In this way we set the precedent that it is possible to live harmoniously with nature without destroying it and to be able to replicate it in other communities.

-
We protect and conserve Amazon forests, biological corridors and their biodiversity. We restore degraded ecosystems in the Peruvian rainforest and promote sustainable land use practices and the conservation of water sources.
-
We promote educational initiatives focused on generating environmental awareness in the population, so that they develop their activities preserving the environment and conserving resources for future generations.
-
We promote respect for cultural identity, as well as the valorization of ancestral indigenous knowledge and traditions. We encourage the empowerment of women, turning them into leaders and promoters of ancestral knowledge.
-
We promote scientific research that contributes to the knowledge, management and conservation of biodiversity, as well as the development of sustainable technologies.
-
We encourage productive initiatives and social projects that are sustainable and environmentally responsible, through which we will develop models of social and natural ecology development that can be replicated in other communities.
Our Goals:
SDGs - Sustainable Development Goals
Qoyllur Q'ente's two projects (restoration and education) are aligned with SDGs 2, 4, 8, 10, 12, 13 and 15.
Ecological restoration
The challenge
We are located in Kosñipata, on the border of the Cusco region and the Madre de Dios region, this area is home to 1316 species of flora and fauna, the challenges we face are:
Deforestation and illegal logging, around 6 thousand ha. are logged daily in the Amazon.
Coca leaf cultivation has increased by 64% in the last 6 years.
Increase in monocultures that degrade soils, accentuating the effects of climate change. Loss of biodiversity due to the modification of its ecosystem.
Our Impact
More than 10 years working for biodiversity conservation
More than 50 hectares restored
More than 55 thousand trees planted*.
More than 120 tree species
First project to promote bamboo plantations in the area.
2 nurseries that house around 5 thousand seedlings per year.
*Most of them registered in the National Register of Forest Plantations of SERFOR (National Forestry and Wildlife Service) - N° 08-CUS-REG/PLT-2018-006.
Environmental education
Yuyay Q’ente
Primary school
We are a non-profit organization that believes in the potential of children to change the world by being active guardians of biodiversity. We want our students to recognize their internal and external potential to find their passion and pursue their dreams, for this, we provide meaningful experiences that enhance their skills and abilities, strengthening their self-esteem and self-confidence.
Our proposal
In the socioemotional field
We strengthen our students' self-esteem, self-confidence and self-assurance, we help them to recognize their emotions and manage them appropriately, in the self-discovery of their internal potential and the impact it can have externally, we help them to build a solid personality.
In terms of competencies/
life skills
We teach them all the courses required by the Peruvian State within their context, and other subjects not required, all projects have an environmental focus, they are taught the process of ecological restoration, to plant, harvest, conserve nature and to produce products based on fruits, seeds, plants, wood and other products taken from the area, to be respectful of biodiversity and be active protectors of it.
Our Impact
In 2023 we started the pilot project with 5 children.
In 2024 we have 23 children enrolled.
In the heart of the forest, we plant life. In the hands of children, we grow the future.
